Pregnancy

We found out on April 18th, 2009 that we were pregnant, I don't think either one of us stopped smiling that whole day! And as you can see by the pictures, my first trimester was not pretty. I was very nauseous and chewing gum non-stop was the only thing that kept me from having my hand over my mouth all day at work. I slept about 14 hours a day, no joke! Although it wasn't pretty, I knew that amazing changes were happening, my body was busy growing a baby!

Some of my energy and appetite returned this month! With the return of my appetite I was finding every food commercial on TV delicious, luckily my self control was still in check! Week 10 we were able to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time! Also, week 12 I had two dreams that we were having a baby girl!

Hello second trimester! We purchased our first piece of furniture for the nursery this month, a rocker! And some days I will sit in the rocker and imagine holding my baby in my arms! Nausea is gone and energy is back to normal and I'm feeling really good!

Finally a bump! Most people predicted a boy, but I knew (from my dream) that I was having a girl, an ultrasound confirmed that! This month I also invested in a body pillow, greatest thing ever!

Seriously loved this part of pregnancy! I felt amazing, and baby was super active! At 21 weeks we had a name picked out for baby but kept it a secret, we also bought baby her first outfit! At 23 weeks we drove to Michigan for our first baby shower with friends and family. As you can see in the background we started painting the nursery this month too!

Hello third trimester!! And another great month of my pregnancy! I really loved them all, but when you feel good, can keep food down and baby is active, what is there not to love? We had a second ultrasound this week and everything looked great. This month we really started to get our birth plan together and preparing more for baby's arrival.

I can no longer sit up without struggling! Baby is getting hiccups a few times a day now  and we had two more baby showers. Sleep is a little less, as I'm more uncomfortable, I need to pee, and baby is moving around, but I still am feeling great!

The nursery is complete! We've washed the clothes and blankets and even picked out an outfit for baby to come home in! I'm not getting much sleep at night anymore and working 40+ hours is wearing on me, but otherwise everything is looking good. No signs of labor.
My last month of pregnancy! Feeling huge, and still not sleeping well, but around 38 weeks I started to thin and dilate a little. This is also the time when I stopped working and decided to stay at home full time. The last two weeks I did everything I could think of to get labor going. My due date was December 24th and each day past my due date felt like a week, but on her own time my beautiful baby girl arrived!
